I got the urge to rearrange some furniture in one of my rooms. It just felt like I needed more space.
The space that opened up was unbelievable. I feel like I have two rooms instead of one now. How did I not see this before? How did I walk in and out for years and not see the potential?
The same way we walk in and out of our daily lives for years and don’t take the time to rearrange them. I didn’t look closely. I didn’t want to put in the work required.
We have to look closely to rearrange, reanalyze, reorganize, reimagine our lives. We have to put in work to create space for what we want, to make room for what can be. A lot of times we’re just not ready for the extra room or wouldn’t know what to do with it if we had it. A lot of times we just ignore what’s right in front of us.
When we’re ready, though, and when we feel the urge, it’s usually some subconscious fear that keeps us from creating space, from pushing through to the other side. It’s comfortable here, where we’re stuck. It’s predictable here, where nothing changes.
Creating space for ourselves, creating openness, making way for change requires letting go of what we know, letting down our guard, and stepping into our lives fully with only Trust to guide us. This is terrifying and liberating. It is a choice worth investigating.
Our lives are worth investigating.
