Many of the people in my life have been buying one-way tickets lately, literally and figuratively.
A number of them one-wayed it out of the country, to return when the wind changes.
A couple of them are one-waying it into a marriage, with no intention of turning back.
A few of them have one-wayed it into new places in life, with no idea if or when they will return.
It made me think, I’m buying a one-way ticket too. I’m buying a one-way ticket into my life, going forward with no turning back. My ticket will take me wherever I want to go from Here, but it will not return me to where I’ve been.
Which means I need to light up my travels, my life, and my intentions because I shall not pass this way again.
“I expect to pass through life but once.
If therefore, there be any kindness I can show,
or any good thing I can do to any fellow being,
let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it,
as I shall not pass this way again.” ~William Penn
